Pb govt to set up zones to issue licenses for restricted drugs

The Punjab government today said it would establish 10 zones in the state for issuing licenses for the sale of restricted drugs.
While informing this, an official spokesperson said that the government has taken this decision under the Drug and Cosmetic Rules 1945 and notification in this regard has already been issued.
The ten zones would be - Amritsar, Ajitgarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda, Patiala, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, Ferozpur and Gurdaspur, he said, adding, that the zone in-charge would be the competent authority for issuing licenses for retail sale of restricted drugs and renewal of licenses as well.
