The Commission would launch the 'follow-up' programme within a month to procure action taken reports on cases discussed earlier, chairperson of the women's panel Paramjit Kaur Landran said today.
She announced this while listening to grievances and issues pertaining to women of border areas at Ramdas in Ajnala constituency. Landran was accompanied by vice chairperson Satbir Kaur Manhera, member Simarjit Kaur Sidhu and secretary Human Rights Mission Brig Gurinderjit Singh (retd).
Stating that more than 4,600 cases and complaints of women had been sorted out by the Commission till date, Landran said, majority of these were regarding domestic violence.
She said that a state-wide awareness campaign would be launched with the help of educational institutions and social organisations to educate and make women and girls aware of their rights.
