The complaint was lodged against BSP leader Ghura Ram, on the complaint of the department's employee Rajesh Pandey and further action is being initiated, Superintendent of Police, Anis Ansari said.
The former minister has his house in front of power department office in Kotwali area. The incident was triggered by people queuing up outside his house and parking their two-wheelers in front of it, following which the BSP leader allegedly beat Pandey and also abused him, police added.
Ram, when contacted, said the FIR has been filed to "sully his image".
"Vehicles were parked before my house and I had merely told Rajesh Pandey about the same," Ghura Ram said, adding, a fake case has been filed against him out of "vendetta".
