PCC Chief, Leader of Opposition in Assembly quit posts

Vaithilingam, representing Kamaraj Nagar Assembly segment,and Subramanian made their announcements at the PCC office

Owning moral responsibility for the defeat in the lone Lok Sabha seat here, PCC President, A VSubramanian and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, V Vaithilingam today quit their respective posts.

Vaithilingam, representing Kamaraj Nagar Assembly segment,and Subramanian told PTI that they made their announcements to senior Congress leader, V Narayanasamy at the PCC office here.

However, Vaithilingam continues to be MLA.

They said that they would soon send their letters to the party high command.

Narayanasamy, the party nominee, was trounced by the ruling AINRC candidate R Radhakrishnan in the Lok Sabha polls by a margin of more than 60,000 votes.
