A police constable, who tried to pacify two groups fighting over a minor car accident, was thrashed by them in northeast Delhi's Khajuri Khas area, an official said today.

Yesterday, after receiving a call about a quarrel between two groups, a policeman attached with the police control room reached the spot and tried to handle the situation. But, the crowd attacked him.

In a video that surfaced on social media, a burqa-clad woman was seen attacking the policeman with slippers for being partial. Subsequently, a group of men also joined her in beating up the policeman, the official said.

A case has been registered and two men have been arrested in connection with the case, the officer said, adding the police was scanning through the video to identify the other accused.
