"Over the years, justice has not been done to the lives and contributions of great leaders like Sardar Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, Dr B R Ambedkar, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya etc, to nation building," he said after administering 'Ekta Pledge' to the employees of Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation ministries on the occasion of 141st birth anniversary of Patel.
Underling that the government is organising special programmes to perpetuate the memory of such leaders who had not been given their due, he said Patel had made "yeomen contribution" for integration of India and hence, his Jayanti is being celebrated as 'Ekta Diwas'.
Besides 'Ekta' pledge, Naidu also administered anti-corruption pledge as the day coincides with beginning of the Vigilance Week.
