PFI activists suspected to have extremist links, Ker gov to HC

The Kerala government has informed the High Court that activists of Popular Front of India arrested during a raid at a training camp in Kannur district few months back are suspected to have links with fundamentalist outfits.
In an affidavit filed in the court, government stated that one of the accused was found to have links with a family member of the founder of Indian Mujahideen.
A total of 21 activists of the radical outfit were arrested during a police raid allegedly at a training camp at Narath in Kannur a few months back.
The affidavit was filed in connection with a petition of an accused, seeking to quash the FIR in the case against him.
Police had also seized swords, country-made bombs and gunpowder during the raid.
