Physicist Ramchandran was my source of inspiration: Yonath

The first woman Nobel prize winner from Israel Ada Yonath has said that Indian physicist G N Ramchandran was her source of inspiration.
"Besides Albert Einstein, India's very own G N Ramchandran was my source of inspiration all these year," said Yonath while addressing the students of a city-based private university.
Yonath termed Ramchandran, with whom she competed as young researcher, as source of inspiration, a release issued by the varsity said here today.
The Nobel Laureate was invited by the university to deliver a lecture at its campus in Tramba on the city's outskirts on February 27.
Ramchandran was well known for his work that led to the creation of Ramchandran plot for understanding peptide structure.

Yonath was awarded the Nobel prize in Chemistry in 2009 for her work on the structure and function of the ribosome.
She also inaugurated bioresearch and characterisation centre at the varsity campus.
