Pilgrim dies after falling from train

A 30-year-old pilgrim died after he fell from a train here, police said today.
Gurjant Singh, resident of Kaithal in Haryana, died when he slipped while trying to board the train at a local station, Government Railway Police official Harmesh Lal said.
He was coming back to his native place by Sachkhand Express after paying obeisance at the Golden temple in Amritsar.
Singh had got down at the station when the train halted for sometime, Lal said.
He suffered serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries there, the official said.

The body was handed over to his family members after post mortem, he added.
