The launch Sri Jamuna carrying 38 tourists from Nadia district was returning from Sunderbans and had anchored at Kultali Kaikhali as it was quite late at night.
Around 15-16 armed pirates came in a motorised country boat and then started looting the tourists in the launch in the wee hours of today. They also beat up some of the staff of the launch and also forced the captain of the tourist launch to take the launch deep into the water.
