Piriyapatna poll date changed to May 28

Election Commission today said the polls in Piriyapatna Assembly constituency countermanded following the death of BJP candidate Sannamoge Gowda, would take place on May 28 instead of May 25 as announced earlier.
The counting would take place on May 31, Karnataka Chief Election Officer Anil Kumar Jha told reporters here.
Last date for filing of nominations is May 10 while that for withdrawal is May 14.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on May 11, he said.
Piriyapatna was scheduled to go to polls, along with 223 other segments, on May five.
