The district police today fished out a pistol used in an attack on a builder eight months ago from the Vasai creek near Mumbai.
Inspector Kiran Kabadi of Tulinj police station said that the pistol had been thrown into the creek immediately after Vikas Chowdhary and Imran Khan shot at Javed Ansari, a real estate developer from Nala Sopara, on August 11 last year.
Ansari however escaped with minor injuries.
According to the police, Shailendra Lodha alias Shanu who had enmity with the victim had hatched the conspiracy to attack him. He had given the job to Mahendra Singh who hired Chowdhary and Khan.
The police arrested Lodha, Singh, Chowdhary and Khan later.
They were booked under MCOCA. Shailendra however got bail, and is presently absconding.
DySP Vishal Gaikwad said with the help of divers and using magnates, police fished out the pistol used in the attack.
