In his complaint to Director General of Police (DGP) Kishan Kumar, BJP state unit spokesman Wilfred Mesquita demanded immediate arrest of activist Aires Rodrigues.
In the post, Rodrigues allegedly condemned the silence of Goa church over the reported statement of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar comparing his sorrows with Christ.
When contacted, Rodrigues said the picture posted by him on the social networking website was not what the ruling party had claimed.
"...It is a picture picked up from Google and posted," he said and claimed that the post related to the picture was "not at all abusive.
"I have questioned silence of the Church over Parrikar's statement," he clarified.
Later, Rodrigues posted, "the stoic silence by the Church on this outrageous and demeaning comparison by the Chief Minister is deafening. A very sorry state of affairs."
