"Please give me leave or else my wife will leave me," wrote a young Lucknow Police constable who has not seen his wife for the last four months.
Constable Dharmendra Singh, in his 30s, in his application to the Additional Superintendent of Police, Lucknow, wrote that his wife would leave him if he was not granted leave for at least ten days.
"It has been four months now that I have not met my wife as I did not get leave. If I am not given leave, my wife might leave me. She wants me to visit home for at least 10 days," Singh, posted at Lucknow police lines, said in the letter.
He further said, "My wife has told me that I need not come home if I did get 10 days' leave."
