After the men's team won the gold a few hours later, the Prime Minister said "good news in Kabaddi continues and this time it is the men's team. Congrats for the gold. We are delighted."
Indian women staged a strong second half performance to get the better of a fighting Iran 31-21 to retain the Asian Games kabaddi.
The Indian men's kabaddi team clinched its seventh successive gold medal at the Asian Games after coming from behind to beat a spirited Iran 27-25 in the summit clash today.
