With the retail prices of tur dal rising further to touch Rs 210 per kg, Congress leader Digvijay Singh today latched on to the skyrocketing prices of the pulse to take a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has an "unsatiated appetite for Tour Dal".
He was apparently referring to Modi's numerous foreign trips after he assumed office.
"He loves Tour Dal he is already planning ahead with greater Gusto!," Singh said.
"He loves Tour Fan and has an unsatiated appetite for Tour Dal. Already planned for the next year," Singh said in a series of tweets.
Opposition leaders have dubbed Modi as one of the 'most travelled' Prime Ministers for going abroad 29 times since assuming office in May last year.
With the incidents of intolerance on the rise, Singh also wondered whether the country was headed for anarchy.
"Sudheendra Kulkarni's face is smeared, BCCI office attacked by Shiv Sena activists. They are let off on bail and honored by their Leader," he said.
"Man lynched in Dadri, another killed in Himachal, another killed in J&K. State Governments look helpless. Are we heading for Anarchy!", he tweeted.
Referring to an article in a newspaper which exposes the RSS claim that Panchjanya is not its mouthpiece, he tweeted "And they say Panchjanya is not RSS mouthpiece! Whom are they fooling!".
According to data from the Consumer Affairs Ministry, tur dal prices today increased to Rs 210 per kg, from Rs 181 per kg in the last week.
