AICC General Secretary and former Union Minister V Narayanasamy today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for helping scam-tainted former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi in procuring travel documents in the UK.

"If she does not step down on her own, the Prime Minister should sack her from the cabinet" he told reporters here today.

He said Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje "were safeguarding the former the former IPL chief".

He also demanded resignation of Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development Pankaja Munde for awarding contracts without inviting tenders.

He also also wanted the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani to quit office for allegedly giving false information about her educational qualifications in the affidavit filed with the Election Commission.

He took strong exception to the exclusion by the Centre of Union Territory of Puducherry from the list of smart cities released recently.

He said the French government was prepared to extend financial assistance to Puducherry if it was selected for smart city programme as Puducherry was a former French colony.

He criticised the Puducherry government here for its "failure to implement developmental schemes" and for diverting funds earmarked under sub plan for the welfare of Scheduled Castes to launch freebies.
