About a week after parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed sporadic violence and arson in the aftermath of the arrest of PMK founder Chief S Ramadoss and his son, former Union Minister Anbumani, the party today decried attempts by some political outfits blaming its cadres for the incidents.
PMK in a statement urged the police to identify the real culprits who indulged in violence and caused damage to public and private property.
Noting that ruling AIADMK Government and some "others" have been projecting PMK as the root cause even for a small incident, it appealed to its partymen to continue the protest in a peaceful manner and not to create any hardship to public.
Incidents of violence has rocked parts of the state, particularly Villupuram and neighbouring districts after Ramadoss was arrested in connection with the violence in Marakkanam on April 25.
Ramadoss was arrested after he failed to wind up a PMK function which was blamed by the government as the reason for the violence at Marakkanam in Villupuram district which was allegedly targeted against Dalits.
Anbumani was arrested from Chennai on May 3 in connection with a case filed last year.
