The resident of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), who was detained in the frontier district of Poonch, was today deported through Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point on the Line of Control (LoC).
"The PoK resident Mohammad Aslam Malik, who was detained yesterday for carrying Jihadi material, was today deported to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir through Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district," a senior police officer told PTI.
He said that no case was registered against Malik as he was not indulged in any anti-India activity.
The 68-year-old PoK resident was detained after he was found carrying "Jihadi literature" when he entered the Indian territory on the weekly Poonch-Rawalakote bus in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, he said.
Malik, a resident of Rawalpindi, had boarded the bus to meet the members of his divided family in Rajouri district, the officer said.
"During the screening of his luggage, police found two Jihadi magazines that he was carrying. So he was detained for questioning," he said.
Malik, who was born in India, had crossed over to PoK in 1965 and had earlier come twice to Rajouri to meet his brothers. This was his third visit, he said.
Under the rules, a person can travel three times in two years on the cross LoC permit.
