Police arrests couple with 10 kg of illegal opium

A couple were arrested today with 10 kg of illegal opium near Chothkeha Fanta area.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the couple, identified as Gendi Bai and her husband Sohanlal, when they were allegedly carrying 10 kg opium for supplying it to their contacts, city police station in-charge Shivpal Yadav told reporters.
The couple have a record of being previously arrested with 15 kg of opium and a case under the NDPS Act was also registered against them.
A fresh case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them, the police said.
