State's Director General of Police K P Singh said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard has been signed between Haryana Police and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited.
As per the agreement, police assistance booths would be set up at a distance of every 10 km on the NHs, which connect several states including Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
"These booths would have paramedical staff for providing first-aid. Besides, these booths would have the facility of a police vehicle, ambulance and motorcycle rider and would be manned round-the-clock," Singh told reporters in Panchkula, near here.
The facility of '100' number would be linked with the booths so that primary assistance could be made available in emergencies of various kinds, he said.
The DGP said the software was being developed with the assistance of HARTRON which would be installed in these booths.
He said with the help of the Honda Group, 100 police personnel have been imparted training at Police Training College to man 20 booths. CCTV cameras would also be installed along these booths at a distance of every 10 km, he added.
He said youth being recruited in Haryana Police were not only proficient in IT skills but also had academic and technical degrees.
In the ongoing recruitment of 5,000 police personnel, more than 60 per cent candidates were graduates and 40 per cent post-graduates, he informed.
In reply to another question, Singh said the image of the Haryana Police has improved.
"In Haryana, all suggestions concerning police reforms submitted by the Prakash Singh Committee in the court earlier have been implemented," he said.
