Nagaland on Sunday joined the nation in observing 'Police Commemoration Day' by remembering the sacrifices made by security personnel in the line of duty.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton along with Director General of Police T John Longkumer led the rank and file of police officers and paramilitary personnel in laying wreaths on a martyrs' memorial at Phesama here.

Highlighting the significance of the day, Longkumer said, "Every year, on October 21, we remember and honour jawans who lost lives in Ladakh ambush in 1959."
