Police constable murdered for resisting robbery; three held

A 28-year-old constable was allegedly murdered in Kothariya area here when he resisted an attempt by three persons to rob him of his motorbike, police said today.
"Bharat Gadhavi, posted at B Division Police Station, was intercepted by three drunk persons near his residence last night who tried to rob him of his motorbike. One of them stabbed him after he resisted," A V Raijada, in-charge of Taluka police station said.
Gadhavi, was rushed to a civil hospital in a serious condition and then shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
"We have arrested Shakti Zala and his two accomplices on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's uncle Sanjay Gadhavi," Raijada said.

Zala is a notorious criminal facing several cases like theft, rioting, loot and attempt to murder, he said.
