Police gun down naxal in Gadchiroli forest

An alleged naxal was killed in an encounter with police in Koparshi jungle of Bhamragadh in Gadchiroli district.
The identity of the deceasednaxal is yet to be established, said a release issued by the office of the Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police.
The encounter took place at around 5 pm yesterday, it said, adding, naxals fired on police patrol party in Koparshi jungle leading to an encounter in which one of the ultra was killed.
Other naxalites managed to flee into the jungles, it said.
On inspection of the spot police found body of anaxal, two weapons, blasting material and naxal material, added the release.
