Police hands over Jaipur girls to their parents

Two minor girls, who had left their homes in Jaipur fearing their parents would scold them for performing bad in studies, landed in the safe hands of police after a constable spotted them moving in South Delhi's Munirka area.
Constable Vijay spotted 14-year-old Pinky Sharma, daughter of Puranmal Sharma and 10-year-old Suman, daughter of Lekhraj -- both residents of Kanta village in Jaipur, roaming on the intervening night of May 25/26 during patrolling in Munirka area.
When he asked about their whereabouts and background, both of them narrated a false story saying they were kidnapped from Rajasthan by four persons who later dumped them at that place, a senior police official said.

"Vijay brought the girls to police station, where Suman revealed that both of them were from Jaipur and had left their house in fear of being scolded by their parents for performing poor in their studies," DCP (South District) B S Jaiswal said.
The girls had boarded in a train from Jaipur to Delhi and got down at Palam railway station. They decided to go to ISBT but inadvertently boarded a DTC bus plying on route 764 and got down at Munirka bus stand.
The medical examination of both the girls was conducted at Safdarjung Hospital and after which they were handed over to NGO 'Prayas'.

The families of the girls were traced and informed after extensive ground work and verification. The parents arrived and both girls were handed over to them, Jaiswal said.
