Police lathicharges Left supporters

Police today lathicharged supporters of the Left parties when they forcibly tried to enter the office of the District Magistrate of North 24 Pargana district.
The supporters of the Left parties had gathered in front of the DM's office to submit a memorandum. They forcibly tried to enter the office breaking the police barricade, so the police had to lathicharge them, Superintendent of Police P Sudhakar said.
The supporters of the Left parties then put up road blockade to protest the police lathicharge on them, the police said.
