"We rescued the minor, son of a local jeweller, last night within eight hours of his kidnapping from Shastri Nagar area in Ghaziabad," SSP Deepak Kumar said here.
He was kidnapped yesterday from his school situated in district's Begam Bag area and kidnappers demanded a ransom of 20 lakhs, he said.
"The main accused, Ashok who is jeweller Rahul's former driver has not been arrested yet. His sister Deepika, her husband Santosh and his cousin who were also involved in the kidnapping have been arrested," said SSP Deepak Kumar.
"It is evident from the railway tickets recovered from the kidnappers, that they were planning to take the victim to Ahmedabad via train," the SSP said.
Along with the main accused, his cousin Surender is also absconding and we are trying to arrest them, he said.
The SSP declined the rumours that any ransom was paid to the kidnappers by victim's family.
