Police have rescued a 16-year-old boy from Jharkhand who went missing on his first visit to the city six days ago.
Karan, a resident of Yusuf Saray in Green Park, complained to INA Metro police that his teenaged cousin disappeared from AIIMS Metro station on May 12, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) Jitendra Mani.
A case was registered and a team was formed under the supervision of the INA Metro station officer Rajeev Kumar.
The team searched various metro stations, hospitals, inter-state bus terminus in Anand Vihar and Kashmere Gate.
Finally yesterday they managed to trace the boy in Ghaziabad in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, Mani said.
After a statement before a magistrate and medical examination, the boy was produced before the Child Welfare Society in Lajpat Nagar.
Further investigation in the matter is underway, the officer added.
