Police search buses in Jind to prevent eve-teasing

Haryana police today conducted checking of various state roadways and private buses here following an increase in eve-teasing complaints by school and college students, police said.
Women police force, headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Mamta Sauda, checked a number of buses at Gohna Road, Jhansi Road and Rohtak Road for almost three hours asking women passengers if they have any teasing or molestation complaint, they said.
Some women police personnel in civil dress travelled on a number of buses to nab people involved in teasing women, police said.
Many women passengers vent out their disgust over eve-teasing they face while travelling in buses but refused to file a formal complaint, they said.
