"Selections have been made and the tournament on lines of the IPL will begin from April 18. The tournament is aimed at giving the local youth a platform to display their talent in the game," Inspector General of Police Danish Rana told reporters here today.
The tournament titled as 'Police Public Cricket Premier League' would help identify the talent in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said a total of 10 teams have been shortlisted for the tournament, "To make it a balanced tournament we made certain rules like no team would be allowed to have more than two current Ranji players and more than three former Ranji players in one team," he said.
"This type of tournament would attract more and more youth of the state towards games," he said.
