"On the occasion of Valentine's Day, public can celebrate without any fear, there is no information of any obstruction," Bangalore City Police Commissioner M N Reddi said in a statement.
He said "if anybody objects or obstructs, police will take stringent action and initiate legal proceedings against them."
City police have made adequate security arrangements to stop any untoward incidents.
"Tom valentine day, adequate police deployed in centrl area, esp MG Rd, Brigde rd, sanky tank area. Wil not allow anyone 2 take law in their hands," DCP Central (Bengaluru) Sandeep Patil tweeted.
