The victim has been identified as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Virendra Singh attached with the Chayansa police station, a police spokesman said.
He said Singh, who hailed from Ballia village in Rewari district, had been posted at the Chayansa police station for the past four months.
Singh had recently gone to his native village on leave and had returned just yesterday.
He had been looking depressed since he came back from leave.
This morning a gardener saw him lying on the ground in the police station premises, with froth coming out of his mouth.
No suicide note has been found from him, the spokesman said.
The reason for Singh's suicide is yet not known, a police official said.
