At least six policemen were
injured when a mob, which blocked a road at Bagda in North 24-Parganas district to protest against alleged police inaction over the recent unnatural death of a woman, attacked them.
The police said that the local people blocked the Bagda-Duttapukur road at Bhownaipore in the Bagda police station area to register protest against alleged police apathy and inaction.
When policemen went to the spot to break the blockade, some demonstrators clashed with them injuring at least six policemen, forcing the security forces to make a lathicharge.
