CPI-ML (Liberation) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya today said the poor people need to unite to defeat the BJP.
"In order to uproot the BJP government, we poor people need to unite against them (saffron party). We will not be able to defeat the BJP if we remain a divided lot," Bhattacharya said while addressing the party's convention at the town hall here.
All the promises made by the BJP in 2014 - such as development of poor people, providing employment opportunities to youths, giving fair price to farmers - have turned out to be a "big failure", Bhattacharya said, adding that all these issues were buried under the hue and cry of demonetisation.
