"His injury is serious in nature and condition of the patient is critical. He has been kept under ventilation with full life support system," Suranjan Ghosh, General Manager (Administration), Belle Vue Clinic, told PTI here.
"The decision to put Ganguly under ventilation was taken after his blood pressure and other parameters started fluctuating," he said.
"His condition has not improved much since this afternoon. We have kept him under ventilation because his parameters fluctuated massively," Ghosh said.
"We will keep him under observation until his parameters become stable and will take a call on the second operation," Ghosh said.
Ganguly was seriously injured when his car collided head-on with a bus at Santragachi in Howrah district on October 20.
A small screen actress Malabika Sen, who was accompanying him, also received injury and was hospitalised. However, she was recovering and could be released from the hospital in a day or two, hospital sources said.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had visited the hospital on that day to inquire about them.
