Postal Department releases commemorative World Cup stamp

The Postal Department will be releasing a set of four postage stamps to mark the commencement of the FIFA World Cup which kicks off in Brazil today.
Two stamps worth Rs 5 each and other two for Rs 25 each with a miniature sheet for Rs 60 depicting on-field action and the Cup mascot Fuleco will be released, an official spokesman said here today.
The stamps are an apt tribute to the football lovers in India and the world, he added.
These stamps were put on sale from today in 81 Philatelic Bureaux all over India, the spokesman said.
In Punjab, these stamps are available at Chandigarh General Post Office (GPO), Ludhiana Head Post Office, Patiala Head Post Office, Jalandhar Head Post Office and Amritsar Head Post Office.
