Power supply disconnected to two polluting textile units

Power supply was disconnected to two textile printing factories here today after they were allegedly found discharging untreated effluent into drain, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board officials said.
The action followed surprise checks by the TNPCB officials in co-ordination with Revenue and Electricity Board officials in some textile dyeing and printing factories, they said.
Cases would be registered against the two factories for flouting the rules, the officials added.
