On a tip-off that some explosive was kept hidden behind a government building in Shantinagar, the police rushed to the area and recovered the IED, said Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kumar Sinha said.
The IED, weighing 20 kg, have been defused by the bomb disposal squad, he said adding that investigation was on to identify the person, who kept it as well as its purpose.
The East Singhbhum district police had recovered two containers meant for making landmines from Pakuriasol village in naxal-affected Ghatsila sub-division yesterday, police said.
