PP Chaudhary administers pledge for cleanliness

Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Law and Justice P P Chaudhary today marked the beginning of a fortnight of cleanliness drive 'Swachhta Abhiyan' and administered a pledge to the staff to encourage hundred others in taking a similar oath.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhary said that cleanliness has to become a national mission with every Indian engaged in this cause. He cautioned that civic authorities alone would not be able to make India clean and free of diseases, an official statement said.
"Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of an India which was not only free but also clean and developed. Mahatma Gandhi secured freedom for Mother India. Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean. I take this pledge that I will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for this," MietY Secretary Aruna Sundararajan, who was present on the occasion, said.
