The office-bearers of Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) met Prabhu in Delhi and submitted a memorandum requesting him to address export related issues, including implications of Goods and Services Tax on the sector.
The minister was positive and assured to provide whatever support needed to the exporting community for sustenance and also unveil a package soon to bail out the exporting units from the crisis faced by them, TEA President Raja M Shanmugham said in a release.
TEA office bearers also met Union minister of State for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar and appealed for setting up an ESI hospital in Tirupur, Shanugam said.
