According to an MoU signed between AIR and Viswa Bharati today, the varsity will produce a composite one-hour programme for morning broadcast and another one-hour programme for an evening slot.
Visva Bharati, one of the major central government universities, is located in Santiniketan, West Bengal.
AIR, or Akashwani as it is commonly known, already has a radio station in Santiniketan, the seat of rich Bengali culture.
According to officials, top functionaries of Prasar Bharati, including its chairperson A Surya Prakash, and Viswa Bharati, led by its V-C Swapan Dutta, were present at the signing of the MoU.
"All India Radio, Shantiniketan will soon be a full-fledged station," the Prasar Bharati chief added in another tweet.
