Sources said that the public broadcaster is working on the launch of Doordarshan's international channel 'DD India' which is already being test run.
It is learnt that the public broadcaster is considering launching the two channels in the coming months and content for both is being chosen and developed.
"There have been discussions related to the launching of the channels but a final decision is yet to be taken," source said.
"It has to be seen that content of highest standard is ready for the launch of channels before a launch date is finalised," the sources added.
There also has been a suggestion that the DD India's launch could coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Germany next month but no final decision has been taken yet.
