Prashant's ton secure convincing win for UP

Opener Prashant Gupta's struck his maiden T20 century to guide Uttar Pradesh to a commanding six-wicket win over Haryana in a Group A match of the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy here today.
Chasing a stiff 179-run target set by Haryana, Prashant all and sundry with a whirlwind unbeaten 102 off just 58 balls to single-handedly ensure the win for UP with four balls to spare.
Earlier sent into bat, Haryana posted a competitive 178 for the loss of eight wickets in their alloted 20 overs.
Rahul Deewan was the top-socrer for Haryana scoring 46 off 37 balls with six fours. He gave the visitors a good start along with Avi Barot (35). The two openers added 63 runs in just five overs before getting seperated.
Guntshveer Singh (21) and Rahul Dalal (24) also made useful contributions for Haryana.
Ali Murtuza, Akshdeep Nath and Praveen Gupta took two wickets each for UP.
UP, however, did not have the best of the start while chasing as they lost Mukul Dagar (6) early. But Prashant in association with Eklavya Dwivedi (22) and Askshdeep Nath (24) guided the hosts to the confortable win.
The 23-year-old Prasanth hammered seven sixes and five fours during his fiery knock.
For Haryana, Ashish Hooda was the most succesful bowler taking 2 for 28.
Brief Scores: Haryana 178 for 8 (R Deewan 46, A Barot 35, A Murtuza 2-32). Uttar Pradesh 179 for 4 off 19.2 overs (Prashant Gupta not out 102, A D Nath 24, A Hooda 2-28).
