President Pranab Mukherjee today extended his greetings and felicitations on the eve of the anniversary of Accession of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
In his message sent to the Emir, the President said India deeply values its close and time-tested relations with Qatar, which are firmly rooted in history and characterised by vibrant people-to-people contacts.
"Your successful state visit to India in March this year has added fresh momentum to our multi-faceted engagement. I am confident that our ongoing bilateral cooperation across the full spectrum of political, economic and cultural spheres will continue to diversify and further strengthen for the mutual benefit of our two peoples," he said.
The President also wished the governments and people of Croatia and Slovenia on the eve of their National Day and Mozambique on the eve of its Independence Day.
In his message to Croatian President Kolinda Grabar- Kitarovic, Mukherjee said, "Our two nations have historically shared warm and cordial relations. It is my firm belief that this traditional bond of friendship and cooperation will grow stronger in the years to come to the mutual benefit of our two peoples."
In the message to President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, he said it was a matter of satisfaction that there has been regular contact between the governments and peoples of the two countries since his visit to India in 2011 as Prime Minister of Slovenia.
"Such exchanges have invigorated our cooperation in several fields, including science and technology, education, trade and commerce and culture. I am confident that these ties will continue to deepen and diversify further to the mutual benefit of our two peoples," he said.
In his message to the President of Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, Mukherjee said India and Mozambique share warm and close bilateral relations, which have been expanding in recent years to the mutual benefit of both our peoples.
"I am confident that the relations between our two countries will further strengthen in the years to come. In this context, I look forward to your visit to India in August this year," he said.
