The authorities of the Kirnahar High School have set up a museum where mementos relating to the long political life of Mukherjee would be exhibited.
Earlier, on his arrival he was greeted at a temporary helipad by the Fishery minister Chandranath Sinha and District Magistrate J P Meena.
The President was accompanied by his wife Subhra.
From the helipad he went on a visit to his elder sister, Annapurna, at Kirnahar village.
He would be present at a cultural programme organised at the Lipika auditorium and speak with teachers and officials of the university.
