Preview of Amitav Ghosh's new book at Spring Fever in Delhi

Noted Indian-American novelist Amitav Ghosh will read out excerpts from his awaited novel "Flood of Fire" at Penguin's Spring Fever, a celebration of books and literature, beginning here March 14, organisers said.
Ghosh's new book is the final in his historical fiction Ibis trilogy, scheduled to release in India in May this year.
"The reading will be followed by a conversation on the book and an interaction with the audience," publishers said in a statement.
The author's "Sea of Poppies," the first book in the Ibis trilogy was shortlisted for the 2008 Booker Prize.
The 58-year-old author has written 10 highly acclaimed works of fiction and non-fiction, which include "The Glass Palace" and "The Shadow Lines."
For the last seven years, Spring Fever has been regarded as Delhi's first literary spring festival. The nine day programme includes a line-up of book readings, literary discussions, musical performances and an open air library.
Apart from Ghosh other prominent names like Ruskin Bond, Ram Jethmalani, Shobhaa De, Gulzar, Aarya Babbar, T N Ninan, Mihir Sharma, Raghav Bahl, Shashi Tharoor are lined up to attend the festival.
Gurcharan Das, Sushir Kakar, Arshia Sattar, Ravinder Singh, Durjoy Datta, Sudeep Nagarkar, Jaggi Vasudev-Sadhguru are the other notable participants.
The open air library, a spacious layout in a quiet corner away from the bustle of crowds, features a complete range of Penguin Random House India titles, from landmark fiction and non-fiction titles first published over a decade ago to the latest bestsellers and cutting-edge books.
The Spring Fever is organised by Penguin Random House in collaboration with Visual Arts Gallery of India Habitat Centre.
