President, as advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accepted the resignation of Danve with immediate effect, Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a communique.
Danve, who was appointed as the new Maharashtra BJP Chief in January by party President Amit Shah, had submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister yesterday over the principle of "one-man, one-post". Modi accepted the resignation and sent it to the President.
Danve had taken over as the state BJP President after Devendra Fadnavis, under whose leadership the party came to power in the October 15 Assembly polls, became Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
He has said he will concentrate on party affairs in the state.
