Prez expresses grief over Sivanthi Adithan's demise
"Adithan was a veteran journalist and industrialist who had a deep connect with people at the grass-root level. His contribution to the society as a philanthropist and educationist will always be remembered," the President said in a condolence message to Sivanthi's wife, Malathi Adithan.
76-year-old Adithan, proprietor of popular Tamil daily 'Dina Thanthi', breathed his last at a private hospital in Chennai yesterday following brief illness.
A recipient of Padmashri award for his contributions to society in various fields, Adithan had also served as the President of Indian Olympic Association.
