In his message on the eve of Vaisakhi, he said: "On the joyous occasion of Vaisakhi, I extend greetings and good wishes to all fellow countrymen, especially sisters and brothers engaged in cultivation and farming. May this joyous festival coinciding with the harvest season herald prosperity and happiness.
"Let us pray that the bounty of nature continues to shower its blessings on our hard working farmers. Let us, on this special day, share happiness with one and all, especially, the poor and needy".
