Prices of select pulses rise as demand picks up

Select pulses, led by masoor, rose up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market following upsurge in demand from retailers against tight supplies from producing belts.
Marketmen said besides pick-up in demand from retailers, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in prices of select pulses.
In the national capital, masoor small and bold moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,650-5,850 and Rs 5,650-5,950 per quintal, respectively.
Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,700-6,800 and Rs 6,800-6,900 per quintal, respectively.
Malka local and best quality followed suit and shot up by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,800-7,100 anbd Rs 7,000-7,100 per quintal, respectively.
In line with a general firm trend, urad and its dal chilka local edged up by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,250-6,700 and Rs 7,250-7,450 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded up by a similar margin to Rs 7,400-8,000 and Rs 7,800-8,200 per quintal respectively.
Gram, gram dal local and best quality were enquired higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,800-4,425 and Rs 4,100-4,300 and Rs 4,200-4,500 per quintal respectively. Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 1,720 each instead of 1,700 per 35 kg respectively.

Masoor small Rs 5,650-5,850, Bold Rs 5,650-5,950, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,700-6,800, best quality Rs 6,800-6,900, Malka local Rs 6,800-7,100, best Rs 7,000-7,100, Moth Rs 5,700-6,000, Arhar Rs 6,250-6,300, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 7,600-7,900.
Gram Rs 3,800-4,425, Gramdal (local) Rs 4,100-4,300, best quality Rs 4,200-4,500, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 1,720, Rajdhani Rs 1,750, Rajmah Chitra Rs 3,950-5,350, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,250-6,550, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 4,800-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,700-2,725 and green Rs 2,775-2,875.
